The Indian captain in the Women's ODI captain Harmanpreet Kaur, is quite famous for her six-hitting capabilities, and the young Indian men's test captain, Shubman Gill, recalls his childhood days when he saw Harman doing so in the nets. Both Gill and Kaur hail from Punjab, and gill said that he was a 10-11 year old kid when he saw Harmanpreet in the academy where he practiced. Gill was astonished with Harman playing aggressive cricket, which was rare those days in Women's cricket. Speaking to JioStar's ‘Champions Wali Baat: Believe in Blue, Gill said, "When I was about 10 or 11 years old, she used to come to the academy where I practiced outside and used to play matches with us. I clearly remember her smashing our bowlers all over the park. As a kid, that was a rare sight for me. She batted very aggressively, which was quite different from that time." He further added, "When anyone rises through the ranks, especially from our region in Punjab, and goes on to captain the country, it is a huge and very proud moment. To see Harmanpreet doing that with such immense pride and joy is truly exciting." After a heavy defeat in the opener, India bounced back with a commanding 102-run victory, marking their first win over Australia in 12 matches. While the bowlers impressed, creating key opportunities, India’s fielding remained a key concern. Indian fielders dropped six catches in the second game, taking the tally to 10 in the two ODIs. Kudos to the bowlers that did not give up. Meanwhile, Smriti Mandhana led the batting effort, but the middle order needs to step up. Australia will seek to regroup and welcome back Phoebe Litchfield.
