However, if the right-handed batter is unable to play, Sarfaraz Khan is a strong contender to replace him in the playing XI as per the reports. Sarfaraz, who missed out on the chance to play against Bangladesh, recently made a statement by scoring a double century in the Irani Cup 2024. Sarfaraz Khan made his Test debut earlier this year against England. He played three Tests in the five-match series and scored 200 runs at an average of 50. Meanwhile, the weather forecast is not good for the first Test. It is raining in Bengaluru currently and heavy rain is predicted for the entire five days at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. However, the drainage system and ground infrastructure are good at the stadium but it will be interesting to see how the situation unfolds.
