On Day 3 of the second Test between India and England at Edgbaston, a scary moment was witnessed when Shubman Gill was hit on the head at first slip.in the 1st session. This occurred in the 37th over when Ravindra Jadeja was bowling to Harry Brook. Brook attempted a powerful drive, but the ball took the outside edge of his bat and shot quickly towards first slip. Shubman Gill, who was at the position, wasn't able to react quickly. The ball struck him on the crown of his head before he could lift his hands. The physio immediately came out to see if Gill was alright. Fortunately, he seemed okay and didn't appear to be seriously hurt. It was one of those moments that made everyone in the field and the stands anxiously concerned, but soon relief was felt after seeing Gill standing up and apparently fine. Root and Stokes Out Early on Day 3 of 2nd Test Brook-Smith Turn Things for England Although England lost two early wickets in a hurry in the morning, the game remains evenly poised. England were 88 for 5 after 22 overs, and it seemed as if India could bowl them out quickly. But Harry Brook and Jamie Smith had something else planned. They resisted strongly and began to score quickly. Brook remained composed from one end, and Smith played attacking shots and the duo completely shifted the momentum. In a single over bowled by Prasidh Krishna, the pair scored 23 runs, which proved to be the costliest over of the innings. Both Brook and Smith are now nearing their hundreds, and they are showing no signs of slowing down. With lunch approaching in a matter of minutes, their priority will be to score as many runs as possible and assist England in reaching at least 388 to avoid the follow-on. On other hand, India will make plans against this pair during the lunch break.
