India’s middle-order batter Shreyas Iyer has been crowned the ICC Men’s Player of the Month for March 2025, following his exceptional form in India’s victorious ICC Men’s Champions Trophy campaign. The award, announced by the ICC on April 15, marks Iyer’s second career win and continues India’s dominance in recent months, with Shubman Gill having secured the February title. Iyer outshone New Zealand’s Rachin Ravindra and Jacob Duffy in the race for the March honour. Iyer played a major role in India's winning campaign in the ICC Champions Trophy. His campaign included a composed 79 against New Zealand in the final group-stage clash, a crucial 45-run partnership with Virat Kohli in the semi-final against Australia, and a match-defining 48 off 62 balls in the tense final against New Zealand in Dubai. Overall, Iyer finished the tournament as the second-highest scorer of the tournament, only behind Rachin Ravindra with 243 runs. Reacting to the recognition, Iyer said, “I’m truly honoured to be named the ICC Men’s Player of the Month for March. This recognition is incredibly special, especially in a month where we lifted the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy — a moment I will cherish forever.” The ICC Player of the Month awards are determined by a combination of votes from global fans and a specialist panel consisting of ICC Hall of Famers, former players, and members of the media.
