Punjab Kings captain Shreyas Iyer has created a new IPL 2025 record after remaining unbeaten on 52 runs against Lucknow Super Giants on April 1. His innings allowed Punjab to successfully chase down a target of 172 runs in the match at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. Punjab defeated by eight wickets with Shreyas scoring 52 off 30 balls. With this performance, Shreyas Iyer surpassed Virender Sehwag in a major captaincy record. It was his 11th fifty-plus score in winning cause IPL games as a skipper, which is one more than Sehwag's 10 fifty-plus scores. In this match against the Lucknow Super Giants, Shreyas Iyer scored unbeaten 52 with the help of three fours and four sixes, but the initial job was done by the opener of Punjab Kings, Prabsimran Singh, who hammered impressive 69 off just 34 balls, powering Punjab to a flying start in the chase.
