Shreyas Iyer has been awarded the India A captaincy in the three-match unofficial series against Australia to be hosted in Kanpur. The first ODI will be played on September 30, with the second and the third being played on October 3rd and 5th. Notably, Iyer will be leading all three ODIs even though the teams are different. The first ODI does not have any of the international players except Ravi Bishnoi, Riyan Parag and Shreyas himself. The ODI will have several known faces from Shreyas' teams. Suryansh Shedge is one such name, who has been with him both in the Mumbai domestic team and the Punjab Kings. From PBKS, Prabhsimran Singh, and Priyansh Arya are also included. However, the squad in the second and the third ODI is different. It has names of players who are currently playing the 2025 Asia Cup. Players like Tilak Verma, Abhishek Sharma, Arshdeep Singh and Harshit Rana will be joining for the next two ODIs.
