Shreyas Iyer, looking to make a comeback to the Indian Test team, returned to red-ball cricket for the first time since the Ranji Trophy final in March. He played for Mumbai in their second match of the Buchi Babu tournament against TNCA XI, which began on Tuesday (August 27) at the Sri Ramakrishna College Cricket Ground in Coimbatore. Shreyas Iyer imitated KKR star Sunil Narine's bowling action in a striking move, and the video quickly went viral on social media. The Mumbai team is led by skipper Sarfaraz Khan. India's recent T20I captain, Suryakumar Yadav, also accompanies Shreyas Iyer in this fixture. All three come into this game looking for a place in the Indian Test squad against Bangladesh in the home series starting from September 19 and would again play first-class cricket next week at the 2024 Duleep Trophy. There was thus a lot of anticipation among Mumbai fans to have a look at its star trio in action, but TNCA batted all day. The surprise package, though, was Shreyas, as no one could have expected him to bowl the last over of the day.
