India cricket team's new ODI vice-captain Shreyas Iyer justified his appointment once again with a 62-run innings in the INDA vs AUSA 3rd ODI. The Mumbai batsman, who was appointed as Shubman Gill's deputy for the IND vs AUS ODIs, scored his second fifty in the series so far against Australia A where he is leading India A by example. Iyer had scored 110 runs in the 1st unofficial ODI after which he failed to deliver in the second match. Iyer Gears Up for IND vs AUS ODIs Shreyas had scored 62 runs in 58 balls in the 3rd unofficial ODI against Australia, hitting 7 fours and 1 six. The Mumbai star, who finished as India’s highest run-getter in CT 2025 with 243 runs to his name, did outstandingly well in the ongoing series. In the 1st ODI against AUSA, he scored 110 runs off 83 deliveries, striking 12 fours and 4 sixes. His only failure came in the 2nd ODI where he managed to score just 8 runs. But there is no possibility of him being omitted from ODIs. The batsman has 2845 runs in 70 ODIs to his credit and averages 48.22.
