Indian batter Yashasvi Jaiswal suffered a controversial dismissal, to which Indian veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin shared a witty post on his X account. On the last day of the Boxing Day Test, Jaiswal got out due to a hasty review. He was batting at 84 runs when he tried to hook Pat Cummins, but the ball got gloved by Alex Carey. Initially, the onfield umpire gave Jaiswal a not-out, but Cummins, believing to hear a sound, went for a review. The ball, however, seemed to suffer a deflection from the bat, but the snickometer could not trace any spike. The third umpire then gave Jaiswal a brave dismissal, mostly based on the visual evidence. Regarding Jaiswal's dismissal, the recently retired Ravichandran Ashwin shared "laughs" on his X account, writing, "Snickometer is trending now. They should capitalise on this frenzy by signing up this man as their brand ambassador. Just for laughs😂" Snickometer is trending now. However, Rohit Sharma, the Indian Test Team captain, felt that Jaiswal touched the ball. In the post-match conference, Rohit Sharma said, “I don't know what to make of that because the technology did not show anything. I don't know how the umpires did not use technology. In all fairness he did touch the ball. More often that not we are the ones falling on the wrong side." Notably, Australia defeated India by 184 runs and will play the last and the fifth Test at Sydney on January 3.
