The local police have taken the case into their hands, launching an investigation against Taskin. The local reporters and media publications have tried to get in touch with the pacer, but his phone was switched off, and there were no communications with him regarding the matter. Meanwhile, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) have officially launched their own investigation and has claimed that if Taskin is found to be guilty in this case, then it will be a really unfortunate incident involving a star player. As quoted by the Daily Star, BCB Director and Chairman of the Umpires Committee, Iftekhar Rahman Mithu, said: "We don't know a whole lot about what happened. We haven't been able to reach Taskin yet. I came to know in the morning and talked to [Najmul Abedeen] Fahim bhai, who then talked to the president." "But first, we have to know whether the incidents being talked about are true or false. The benefit of the doubt will have to be given until we know better. The matter is outside of BCB's jurisdiction, but still it is a matter of discipline." Taskin Ahmed has been a regular pick for the Bangladesh white-ball series. He last participated against Pakistan in the T20I series, where he featured in the final match and took three wickets.
