Spinners were bowling really good and I think we lost some wickets at that time,” Dube said. “For me, it was important to stay till the end. I was not connecting the ball so well. I was trying to hit, but I was trying to hit very hard.” Reliving the emotion behind the chase Ft. According to Dube, the former CSK captain offered a small but significant piece of advice. “He (Dhoni) told me that just time the ball, you will hit it very nicely,” Dube revealed. Dube also recalled a key moment involving LSG leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi. The spinner bowled three overs and picked up two wickets while giving away 18 runs. “There was one over left for Bishnoi. So, I was there in the end because he told me that if you are there till the end, he won’t bowl,” he said. The prediction proved spot on. Bishnoi’s final over was held back as LSG adjusted their plans, aware of Dube’s hitting ability. “He was hitting the fast bowlers so well, and I used that as well. I wanted him to finish, that's why I gave him the single — but unfortunately, I finished.” Dube ended by praising Dhoni’s composure. “Being with him, there is definitely something different, and he is one of the best finishers in the world.” The win snapped CSK’s five-match losing streak. They return to action against the Mumbai Indians on April 20.
