Mohammad Shami joined the Indian team for the practice session at the Eden Gardens as he boarded the team bus, and reached the field at 4:15 pm. BCCI has posted a video on their social media account calling "He's back." As per the video, Shami was seen meeting Morne Morkel, the Indian bowling coach, who gave him a warm hug. At 4:30 PM, following a quick chat with his India teammates, Shami starts his warm-up routine and bowls a few deliveries without a run-up, still wearing a heavy strap on his injured left knee. By 5:05 PM, Shami gradually finds his rhythm, bowling with a very short run-up, initially wearing his cap, and then removing it after a few balls. Shami discusses ball grip with Morkel, then bowls full throttle at 5:23 PM. His teammates watch as he bowls with no discomfort. After the session ends at 6:36 PM, Shami signs autographs for fans before leaving. He's BACK ๐ช๐ปTeam India ๐ฎ๐ณMohd. Shami back in squad after 14-month's break Mohammad Shami was last featured in the 2023 World Cup but was battling an ankle injury. He then underwent an ankle injury and was playing for Bengal in the domestics. However, he then suffered from some knee issues that not only delayed his participation but canceled his joining the India team in Australia for the Border Gavaskar Trophy. By then the NCA was closely observing his recovery process and finally enrolled his name in the 50-match T20 series against England at home. He will also be playing the ODI series and will tour Dubai for the Champions Trophy alongside Arshdeep Singh and Jasprit Bumrah, who is yet to wait for the Ready to Play clearance.
