Indian star pacer Mohammad Shami is all set to return to competitive cricket after suffering from a knee injury. Shami continued playing the 2023 ODI World Cup with the injury but decided to undergo surgery and will come back after a year in the Ranji Trophy match between Madhya Pradesh and Bengal. Presently, Bengali is in the fifth spot in the rankings, collecting 8 points in four games. 3 points came in the last match against Karnataka and is not padding up against Madhya Pradesh, scheduled on 15th November. In a press release, the Cricket Association of Bengal stated, "Shami's inclusion in the Bengal team will not just be a big boost but also lift the morale of the entire team, which aims to make it to the next round of the Ranji Trophy."
