Former Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan is all set to resume bowling as he has received clearance for his suspected bowling. Post-retirement, he has been a vibrant leg-spin force for teams around the Earth. However, the suspection case had paused his game. But with the clearance received, he will be available with his bowling skills in all formats. Speaking to Cricbuzz, Shakib confirmed the news of clearance but did not drop any words on where he took the third reassessment of his action. Shakib said, "The news is right (clearing the bowling test) and I am cleared to bowl again." However, his career faced a setback when he was banned from bowling in December after an independent assessment deemed his action illegal during an English County game for Surrey. The match in question took place in September, but the results from Loughborough University's independent testing were only disclosed later that year. Hoping for a resolution, the 37-year-old underwent a second test in Chennai in January, yet his action remained unapproved. This setback prevented Shakib from making a return for the ICC Champions Trophy, a tournament he had intended to be his farewell to international cricket. However, he may still feature in Bangladesh’s upcoming ODI series against Sri Lanka, as he is currently not engaged in any T20 league commitments, including the Indian Premier League (IPL) or the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Despite entering last year’s IPL auction and the PSL draft in January, Shakib failed to attract any franchise bids. With no immediate franchise cricket engagements, the seasoned all-rounder might shift focus to national duties in the coming months.
