In the Champions Cup match on Sunday at Faisalabad, Babar Azam struck five boundaries off Shahnawaz Dahani in an over. Still, that potent innings by Babar, wherein he reached 45 with eight boundaries, couldn't save his side from bowled out for only 105 runs while chasing 232 on the board. He gets aggressive against Dahani in the seventh over and smashes 20 runs from the over by hitting five consecutive boundaries, leaving Dahani in shock. The short ball comes first and Babar readied himself quickly to pull and get away with a four. Next came the wide ball which left him enough time to late cut it for another boundary. In fact, Dahani did not learn from his earlier mistakes. He bowled short and wide that Babar cut well. A boundary misfielding did not help him any more. The fourth ball was a shade better still easy for babar to hit through the gap at midwicket for another four. On the last ball which was short again, Babar pulled it for another four. Altogether five boundaries Dahani conceded 20 in that over. Also Read | Ishan Kishan’s Cryptic 2-Word Post: A Direct Message to the BCCI? Dahani was visibly unhappy and questioning what happened after Babar went wild. He was widely shocked and looking for an explanation. It was indeed Babar's onslaught that made captain Mohammad Rizwan not offer him another over in the remaining game. Post the match, Dahani uploaded a video of Babar's onslaught on social media and in return got much criticism from the fans. He captioned, "Just cannot stop watching this again & again. Don't think I would be able to sleep tonight. I just cannot understand, how Babar made it look so easy," As soon as Dahani posted the video, fans quickly criticized him for lacking 'self-respect'. They didn’t mind him admiring his teammate's performance, but they felt he was more like a fan than someone taking the situation in stride. This led to a lot of trolling and mockery.
