The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) plan to exclude Sarfaraz Khan from the India A team for the upcoming England tour was revealed. Despite not a single name having been disclosed as to who the team of the India A squad for the tour will consist of, the key point so far has been that Sarfaraz will not take part in the whole eventium. From his appearance in the red-ball match in February 2024, Sarfaraz has played six home Test matches. This move is no surprise to many experts as Sarfaraz at the age of 27 is rather labeled as a spin track bowler. He missed India A's tour to Australia before the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and was still called up to the main team. As per the Indian Express, one similar report says that this is the plan for the current situation. After the closing of the IPL 2025 on June 3, Sarfaraz is definitely going to be part of the senior India team for their trip. All the same Ishaan Kishan and Yashasvi Jaiswal, along with the first group of India A players, will fly out early to the Spitfire Ground in Canterbury from May 30 to June 2. The Indian main team might go later than the second warm-up game from June 6 to June 9, but they surely are not going to play there. On the contrary, Sarfaraz and others are going to play a mock-up match in Benkenham before the series starts on June 20. Also Read | How Much Did Virat Kohli Make Per Test Match? Find Out In addition to Sarfaraz, the Indian squad of India A has not invited Devdutt Padikkal and Rajat Patidar. Both players have made their debut in the same series as Sarfaraz and, in fact, Padikkal, even played in Australia. However, their injuries have ruled both of them out of the whole tour. Padikkal cannot participate in IPL 2025 anymore due to a hamstring issue, and at the same time, Patidar is treating a finger injury. Stories inform, indeed, that he might become the sup of Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), but, even if he had been fully fit and RCB made to the playoffs, he would not be the India A cut one.
