Mumbai favourite Sarfaraz Khan is in the process of returning to India. Khan featured in the home series defeat against New Zealand, but was overlooked for the Australia and England tours. With the IND vs WI series set to begin next month, Sarfaraz was spotted training with former skipper Rohit Sharma at the NCA. Runs have continued to pour from the bat of Sarfaraz Khan in the lead-up to the India vs West Indies series. In the recently concluded Buchi Babu tournament, the 27-year-old scored twin centuries against TNCA XI and Haryana. The ODIs are after the Test series and Sarfaraz and Rohit both appeared to be in their best moods with international cricket around the corner. Whereas Rohit, being ODI captain is sure to play, the same cannot be guaranteed for Sarfaraz. Although he has had a healthy domestic season and some recent form, India have piled up their options in Test cricket. Rishabh Pant, Washington Sundar and most recently Karun Nair have all been in the middle order position that Sarfaraz is vying for. By the way, Rohit himself began his Test career in the middle order, scoring consecutive centuries against West Indies in 2013. He moved up to the top order in 2019 and played from there until retirement.
