Today, on April 11, against Delhi Capitals, the Chennai Super Kings opener Sanju Samson reached a major career milestone by becoming the fourth Indian to hit 400 sixes in the T20 format. He achieved this feat at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium. Samson crossed the 400-six mark in overall T20 cricket, joining an elite list of Indian power-hitters. He now joins Rohit Sharma (554), Suryakumar Yadav (421), and Virat Kohli (440) in the 400-six club from the Indian side. Sanju Samson stood not out at 115 off 56 balls against Delhi Capitals for Chennai Super Kings. During the knock, he became the first designated wicketkeeper to score an IPL century for CSK, going past MS Dhoni’s previous franchise-best 84*. Samson reached his hundred in just 52 balls, bringing it up in the 18th over with a guided boundary off T. Natarajan to third man. His innings progressed rapidly after scoring three runs off the very first ball, while his half-century came in only 26 deliveries. The century was his fourth in IPL history, adding to his previous hundreds in 2017 (102 vs Rising Pune Supergiant), 2019 (102* vs Sunrisers Hyderabad), and 2021 (119 vs Punjab Kings). He eventually finished with 15 fours and four sixes in a landmark innings. More to follow...
