Sanjana Ganesan, renowned sports broadcaster and wife of Mumbai Indians pacer Jasprit Bumrah, has taken to Instagram to confront social media trolls who targeted her son, Angad, after a few seconds of footage from Sunday’s IPL 2025 match between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). The incident occurred during the evening game at Wankhede Stadium, where fans and media were quick to point out Angad's facial expression during the match. The toddler’s appearance during the match quickly became a topic of unwanted discussion, prompting Ganesan to respond directly. Frustrated by the unsolicited attention, Sanjana wrote on Instagram Stories, saying how she and her husband have made conscious efforts to shield their son from the harshness of social media. “Our son is NOT a topic for your entertainment. Jasprit and I do everything in our power to keep Angad away from social media because the internet is a despicable, vile place to be,” she said. She further added that they attended the game solely to support Jasprit, with no intention of putting their child in the spotlight. The broadcaster’s message wasn’t limited to the mockery of her son’s expression but extended to the disturbing use of mental health-related terms such as “depression” and “trauma” in reference to a child. "Throwing around words like trauma and depression in reference to a baby says so much about who we're becoming as a community, and it’s honestly really sad,” Ganesan wrote.
