The cricketing icon Sachin Tendulkar has been celebrated by the Board of Control for Cricket in India with the Col. C.K. Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award for his efforts. He received the accolade on Saturday, February 01, owing to his efforts regarding the sport cricket and the extent of popularity cricket has generated-not only within the country, India, but internationally as well. Sachin, more popularly known as God of Cricket, received the award during the BCCI Naman Awards 2025 and was passed the memento by former board secretary and the current ICC chairperson Jay Shah in Mumbai-the city of dreams. Here is what the legendary batter said during his speech "I think I would say without cricket, all of us wouldn't be sitting in this room. For me, it has been the ultimate gift of my life. We have bat and ball and if there is no solid grip over that you start losing grip over the bat and a ball. You kind of slowly start losing grip over your career also. I should not be giving you advice and saying stay focused whatever, but there will be distractions, don't let them disrupt your career. Value everything that we have and look after your game. It is about we all have managed when we did not have anything," "It is important to value when we have everything and behave in the appropriate manner to take the game forward and the country's name. Like I said, you all are current cricketers. There is plenty of cricket left in you. Just go out, give your best and make the most of this opportunity because you will only realize once you have stopped playing cricket where you were a few years ago," he concluded. This prestigious award acknowledges Sachin's immense impact on the sport, both on and off the field. His incredible career, spanning over two decades, made him a global cricketing legend. With over 34,000 runs in international cricket, including 100 centuries, he has set records that will be remembered for generations to come.
