Legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar has categorically ruled out all speculation associating him with the position of President of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). His management firm, SRT Sports Management Pvt Ltd, came out with a strong denial on Thursday, shooting down the rumors that had been going around prior to the BCCI Annual General Meeting (AGM) later this month. The official release stated: "It has come to our attention that certain reports and rumours have been circulating regarding Mr. Sachin Tendulkar being considered, or nominated, for the position of President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). We wish to categorically state that no such development has taken place. We urge all concerned to refrain from giving credence to unfounded speculations." BCCI President’s Post Vacant After Roger Binny’s Exit The clarification comes at a time when the BCCI’s top post is vacant following Roger Binny’s resignation earlier this month after turning 70. Binny, who became BCCI president in October 2022, was initially expected to continue until the AGM but stepped down due to age restrictions. At the same time, on September 28, there will be elections for some important positions like the president and chairman of IPL. However, except for the president's, all office-bearers are likely to remain on.
