Indian cricket great Sachin Tendulkar has dismissed outright being in the running for the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) presidency. His team released a statement outrightly refuting the reports that the ex-batter was about to become the board's future president. Though Tendulkar himself could not be contacted, his team asked the press to hold off making such a statement. The clarification was made by SRT Sports Management Pvt. Ltd. Here is what the official statement read as quoted by Cricbuzz: "It has come to our attention that certain reports and rumours have been circulating regarding Mr. Sachin Tendulkar being considered, or nominated, for the position of President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). We wish to categorically state that no such development has taken place. We urge all concerned to refrain from giving credence to unfounded speculations," BCCI polls will be held on September 28, with polls for president, vice-president, secretary, joint secretary, and treasurer to be conducted. The current secretary Devajit Saikia, joint secretary Rohan Gauns Dessai, and treasurer Prabhtej Singh Bhati are probable to return to their offices.
