Rajasthan Royals (RR) have beaten Mumbai Indians (MI) by 27 runs in a rain-curtailed 11-over match at the Barsapara Stadium, Guwahati. Batting first, RR notched up 150/3 in their 11 overs, and in reply, MI could only manage 123/9 to fall short despite a fiery middle order. RR Sets a Massive Target in Truncated Encounter RR got off to a flyer with the opening pair of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi attacking MI from the first ball. Yashasvi Jaiswal was in fine touch, finishing on an unbeaten 77 off just 32 balls, with the help of 10 fours and 4 sixes. He took the game away from MI right from the word go. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi provided excellent support at the top, smashing a quick-fire 39 off just 14 balls, with 5 sixes. RR reached 80 inside the first 5 overs and that set the base for a massive total. After Sooryavanshi departed, Riyan Parag added 20 off 10 balls and together with Jaiswal, Shimron Hetmyer chipped in with 7 off 5 balls and he stayed till the end. MI bowlers could not stem the flow of runs, particularly Shardul Thakur, who conceded 36 runs in just 2 overs. AM Ghazanfar was economical and bagged 2 wickets but the MI bowlers failed to control the run-rate. Naman Dhir scored 25 and Sherfane Rutherford smashed a quick-fire 25 off 8 balls, but this wasn't enough to bring MI back into the game. RR bowlers were taking wickets at regular intervals, and it was Nandre Burger, Ravi Bishnoi and Sandeep Sharma who all scalped 2 wickets each and ensured that MI was always behind the required rate.
