Sanju Samson will not be available for Rajasthan Royals' next game against Royal Challengers Bengaluru due to an abdominal injury. He was also unavailable for the previous game against Lucknow Super Giants because of the same issue. Samson injured himself while batting in the match against Delhi Capitals and hence, Riyan Parag led the side in the match against LSG. A statement from the team said: "Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson is currently undergoing recovery and will remain at the team's home base with select RR medical staff. As part of his ongoing rehab process, he will not be travelling to Bangalore for the upcoming match against RCB. "The team management is monitoring his progress closely and will take a game-by-game approach regarding his return to action." It is still unknown when he will be fit. In his absence, Riyan Parag was made captain. Parag had also captained the team at the beginning of the season when Samson was recovering from a thumb surgery. During that time, doctors had told Samson not to perform wicketkeeping until he was completely fit. They are now placed eighth with only two wins out of eight matches. Rajasthan Royals will now face Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on April 24. This match will be extremely crucial for them in order to stay alive in the race of qualification. A defeat here will end their hopes of lifting the trophy this season.
