On March 31, Rajasthan Royals (RR) spinner Kumar Kartikeya posted pictures of him with former CSK captain MS Dhoni on social media. The two teams had recently engaged on March 30 at Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati, in the 11th match of the IPL 2025. RR batted first amassing a total of 182/9 in 20 overs. Nitish Rana stood out with his explosive 81 from 36 balls, peppering ten fours and five sixes. Captain Riyan Parag contributed 37 from 28 balls. CSK was led by captain Ruturaj Gaikwad, who scored 63 off 44 deliveries, hitting seven fours and a six. MS Dhoni contributed 16 off 11 deliveries, while Ravindra Jadeja remained unbeaten with 32 from 22. However, CSK fell short by six runs, totaling 176/6. Just a day after the match, Kumar Kartikeya posted a selfie with MS Dhoni on Instagram, transforming it into trending Ghibli-style artificially created art. Currently, CSK is stationed at seventh in the points table with just two points from three matches. Meanwhile, RR, on the other hand, occupies ninth position with the same amount of points. Coming in at 7, the 43-year-old was unable to sell the house on the price of 16 runs off 11 balls before CSK fell short on the chase of 183 runs. During the post-game conference, the CSK coach explained: "Yeah, it's a time thing. MS judges it. His body is, his knees aren't what they used to be. And he's moving okay, but there's still an attrition aspect to it. He can't bat 10 overs running full stick. So he will gauge on the day what he can give us. If the game's in the balance like today, he will go a little bit earlier, and he backs other players when other opportunities are up. I said it last year [as well], he's too valuable to us - leadership and wicket-keeping - to throw him in nine, ten overs. He has actually never done that. So, look, from around 13-14 overs, he's looking to go depending on who's in." CSK is next going to face Axar Patel- Delhi Capitals on Saturday, April 5, at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
