India have not played a Test match since their home series against England in March 2024. They are scheduled to play 10 more Tests this year beginning on September 19. Despite playing last test in March, in the latest ICC rankings, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Yashasvi Jaiswal have moved one place up and are in a better position in the table than before. The top-ranked Indian batter is Rohit Sharma, who sits at fifth position with 751 rating points. Coming in at number six and seven are Yashasvi Jaiswal and Virat Kohli, who are not far behind Rohit, having 740 and 737 points, respectively. The rise of the three batsmen had come following poor performances by England's Harry Brook against Sri Lanka at the Kennington Oval this week. He scored only 19 and 3 in two innings and now consequently dropped to 12th place with 709 points. Babar Azam is also getting close in a top-10 entry at 11th position with 712 points, just a few rating points behind Mohammad Rizwan (Pakistan) and Marnus Labuschagne (Australia).
