Indian captain Rohit Sharma has finally ended all speculations about his ODI future, making it clear that he has no intention of retiring from the format. Having led India to a record Champions Trophy 2025 victory over New Zealand at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday, March 9, he stated: "I want to make it clear that I am not leaving, I am not retiring from this format. Rohit's retirement had been a burning issue all through the tournament, particularly after he announced that he was walking away from T20Is following India's World Cup win in June 2024. It was believed by many that he would do the same following Champions Trophy success, particularly in light of his age and workload considerations. The 37-year-old however, put paid to all such speculation by declaring his willingness to carry on playing in the 50-over game.
