Rohit Sharma has passed the pre-season fitness test at the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Centre of Excellence (CoE). The Indian ODI skipper had arrived yesterday and took the test today in Bengaluru. Unlike them, Rohit won't play any competitive cricket anytime soon. Having retired from Test and T20I cricket, Rohit can't play any cricket until late September. India's next ODI series would be played in October against Australia but Rohit has reportedly expressed interest in playing for India A against Australia A on September 30 and October 3 and 5 in Kanpur. Rohit has not played any cricket since the beginning of June. On break, he trained just three weeks ago. As the ODI captain plays only one format and the Indian Premier League (IPL) is the only other competition he plays in, keeping in touch for international cricket is not simple. But the 38-year-old appears as dedicated as always. Read also: Pakistan registers 200+ T20I score in UAE, defeat UAE host by 31 runs When is Virat Kohli’s fitness test scheduled? Since settling in London as his home base, Virat Kohli only comes to India to play games. Only recently has he begun training in London since playing in the final of the IPL 2025. Nobody knows when Kohli will come to CoE to undergo his fitness evaluation. There are reports that, as with Rohit, Kohli too is keen to play for India A. That would imply he'd report in Bengaluru in September. But you can't be certain. Maybe he doesn't think there is any necessity to play against Australia A. We do know playing ODI cricket is second nature to him; he can't forget it. Indian Players Pass Fitness Tests Shubman Gill, Mohammed Siraj, Jitesh Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Washington Sundar, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Prasidh Krishna, and Shardul Thakur had also reached the CoE yesterday and passed their fitness tests as well. According to RevSportz, Prasidh had the highest score among all cricketers.
