Rohit Sharma has opened up about how his teammates react to his on-field outbursts. The Indian captain, known for his animated expressions and direct communication, clarified that his emotions are always driven by the team’s success. Speaking to Star Sports after India's Champions Trophy victory, Rohit explained that his players understand his intentions. He said, “I have a bond with my teammates where they know that if I say something on the field, it’s only for the team’s benefit. I don’t get any joy from yelling at them. It’s just that we want to be the most disciplined and clinical team on the field.” Rohit admitted that mistakes happen, and as a leader, he sometimes gets emotional in the heat of the moment but moves on immediately. He added, “When small mistakes occur, I react in the heat of the moment. But my teammates know it’s just for that particular over. I forget about it instantly and move on. There’s no lingering negativity, and in fact, it adds some fun to the game.” Read also: WPL 2025: Nat Sciver-Brunt becomes first player to score 400 runs in a season Emotional Reactions in Key Matches Rohit’s passionate approach was evident during the Champions Trophy semi-final against Australia. He and Virat Kohli were visibly frustrated with Kuldeep Yadav over a fielding lapse. Rohit’s no-nonsense feedback has been a recurring theme, even in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, where he was seen correcting Yashasvi Jaiswal’s stance at silly point. Even his teammates, in multiple interviews, have explained Rohit's caring attitude on and off the field, despite being so reactive to them. Despite these moments of frustration, Rohit emphasized that his leadership style is about setting high standards. His teammates acknowledge his passion and accept his criticism in the right spirit. While his expressions may be intense, the underlying message remains clear – he wants the best for the team.
