The Indian Men's Team ODI captain Rohit Sharma is likely to tour Pakistan for a photoshoot with the captains of the Champions Trophy 2025. The marquee even is making a comeback after 8 years, and Pakistan has received the hosting rights. Due to geopolitical tensions, the hybrid model has been accepted, which made India play in Dubai. However, according to traditions, the captains' photoshoot is done in the hosting country. Thus, only Rohit Sharma might have to tour Pakistan. According to a report by IANS, Pakistan is preparing a grand opening ceremony that will be conducted around February 16 or 17. As in all ICC events, the participating captains will be attending the ceremony. Various sources informed the IANS that, “Indian Team captain will visit Pakistan to attend the opening ceremony of the Champions Trophy as PCB plans a grand event, marking the return of a mega international cricket event to Pakistan after 29 years." The most recent encounter between India and Pakistan on Pakistani soil occurred during the Super Four stage of the same tournament, with India losing by 8 wickets. The 2025 Champions Trophy, starting on February 19, marks Pakistan's first major ICC event as hosts since co-hosting the 1996 Cricket World Cup alongside India and Sri Lanka. The tournament will follow a hybrid model, with the majority of matches played in Pakistan. However, all games involving India, including potential knockout matches if they qualify, will take place in the UAE. Pakistan enters the tournament as the reigning champions, having claimed a dominant victory over archrivals India in the 2017 edition, winning by an impressive margin of 180 runs. Speaking about the Indian team, the team is yet to be declared, and different reports have suggested that Rohit Sharma is likely to continue as the captain at least till the Champions Trophy.
