The International Cricket Council (ICC) has come up with the new men's player rankings, with significant developments in both ODI and T20I rankings. Indian opener Rohit Sharma has risen to the second rank in the ODI batters list, sending Pakistan's Babar Azam down after his dismal show in the recent West Indies series. Babar was struggling throughout the three-match ODI series. He had scored 47 in the opening game but was knocked over cheaply in the subsequent two matches by West Indies paceman Jayden Seales. He ended the series with only 56 runs. This below-par form led to him losing his position in the top two. Rohit is now second in the list with 756 rating points, while India's Test skipper Shubman Gill continues to lead the ODI chart with 784 rating points, ensuring his status as the top ODI batter. Bowling Rankings and T20I Standings Changes In the ODI bowlers' list, Pakistan's Shaheen Afridi, though taking four wickets in the first game against West Indies, fell one position to 13th. Jayden Seales, who had a brilliant series, improved by five places to 12th, whereas his teammate Gudakesh Motie rose by 24 places to 33rd. The T20I rankings also witnessed significant movement. Australia's Tim David jumped six positions to find a place in the top 10 at number 10 based on his performances against South Africa. South Africa's Dewald Brevis made the biggest jump, shifting 80 places up to find himself at number 21 after slamming a rapid century in the second T20I. From India, Tilak Varma is currently in second position, closing on number one Abhishek Sharma. Travis Head fell two positions to fourth as he underperformed in the series against South Africa. These changes are yet another transformation in the cricket world rankings, with steady performance rewarded and poor performances resulting in noteworthy falls.
