India has won the T20 World Cup cricket tournament this year by thrashing South Africa in the final. They played so well that they did not lost a single match throughout the tournament. In the final, the game became pretty scary for India when South Africa needed 30 runs and still had 6 players left, but India managed to hold on and took the trophy back home with a margin of 7 runs. India ultimately won the game thanks to a marvelous catch from Suryakumar Yadav, brilliant bowling during the last few overs, and a well-played half-century by Virat Kohli. However, there was something more that the Indian wicketkeeper did to assist India in winning the match. According to some of the Indian players, after the match concluded, they confessed that they got a bit nervous because two of the South African batters were playing extremely well. He said Rishabh Pant's clever tactic helped India to bounce back and win the tournament. He said on the show, "When South Africa needed 30 runs off 30 balls, just before that, there was a small break. Pant used his intelligence to pause the game - he had a knee injury, so he had his knee taped, which helped slow down the game - because the game was fast-paced, and at that moment, all a batter wants is the ball to be bowled quickly. But we had to break the rhythm. As I was setting the field and talking to bowlers, suddenly I saw Pant fall on the ground. The physiotherapist had arrived and was taping his knee. Klassen was waiting for the match to start again. I am not saying it's the only reason, but it could be one of them - Pant Sahab used his smarts and things worked out in our favour," Watch Video: Captain Rohit Sharma revealed the untold story of Rishabh Pant when India needed to defend 30 runs in 30 balls. David Miller, though, tried changing gears, but the pressure in the last 2-3 overs on South Africa was too much and India made full use of it. He added, "That is what happened. Hardik dismissed Klaasen in that over, and from then onwards, pressure started to build on South Africa. Then all the boys gathered and started to sledge their batters, details of which I can't disclose here, but it was essential because we had to win at any cost. To win that, we were willing to take a few fines. That is why I told the boys to say whatever they felt like; we would handle the umpires and referees later," Now, after winning the Test series 2-0 against Bangladesh recently, Team India will play a three-match T20I series against them starting on 6th October.
