Rohit Sharma after missing the Perth Test match due to the birth of his second child, will play the Adelaide Test against Australia. During a pre-match press conference ahead of the Pink ball Test match, Rohit Sharma revealed that he will be batting in the middle order instead of opening, KL Rahul will be continuing as opener alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal. During the press conference, Rohit acknowledged Rahul’s efforts and mentioned that the way KL Rahul bats in the away conditions in Test matches, he deserves the opening slot. During the press conference, Rohit Sharma said: "KL Rahul to open. I'll bat somewhere in the middle. I was watching KL Rahul's batting from home with my newborn in my arms. He played brilliantly so there is no need to change his position. KL deserves that spot at this point.
