Harshit Rana, who is currently leading the North Delhi Strikers in the Delhi Premier League, feels that both Shreyas Iyer and Rohit Sharma have the same style of captaincy, especially when it comes to giving full freedom to the bowlers. In the post-match presentation ceremony at News18 CricketNext on Sunday, August 10, Rana said that he really tried to follow their styles but candidly remarked that he barely can. Notably, Rana debuted in international cricket under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma. He debuted in Test during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in December 2024, and his ODI debut came in February 2025. He played under Shreyas Iyer in the Kolkata Knight Riders for three seasons, one of which was in 2024, when KKR won their IPL Trophy after 10 years. Speaking about the captaincy types, Rana siad, “I find Rohit and Shreyas bhai very similar, in the sense that they give a free hand to the players. I like that a lot and try to follow that. But I can’t (laughs)." Meanwhile, his T20I debut came under Suryakumar Yadav's leadership. He even played under Yash Dhull in the Ranji Trophy and under Shikhar Dhawan in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Another collapse left them at 116/8 before Lalit Yadav and Rajneesh Dadar’s fightback. Harshit struck in the final over, sealing the win as Deepanshu Gulia took three wickets. Speaking about the toss, Harshit Rana said, “It was the perfect decision for us. There was a lot of difference on the pitch. The wicket was playing well. It was perfect to bat. We were getting a bit of help in the initial overs. The ball was moving. I guess it was the right decision."
