Former Indian cricketer Robin Uthappa was born and raised in Bengaluru, his heart lies in the centre of Karnataka’s capital but eventually, he had to make some tough decisions to move out of this place. He would have never thought that he would leave the comfort of his hometown. He opened up and said that he had to make the tough call because of Bengaluru’s traffic. He further said that he felt it would be hectic to raise his kids around this traffic and he doesn’t want them to spend their half of life between these traffic. He added that getting stuck in the heavy traffic while taking his daughter out for a clinic was the last moment he felt he needed to make this decision. During a podcast with Cyrus Says, Uthappa openly confessed that he made this decision for the betterment of his kids. Robin Uthappa on Cyrus Says Podcast said: “I've left my beloved city because it just felt like unfair to the kids to raise them in a place they spend half their lives in the traffic. That is genuinely the reason.” The former Indian cricketer further went on to elaborate on the incident that forced him to make this decision. He further said: "Our daughter Trinity was going through some challenges immediately after child birth. We had to take her (for some treatment). She had 10 sessions and during one of the sessions... The clinic is three and a half kilometers from where I live. It took me 45 minutes to get there and then it took us an hour and a half to get back. We planned it in a way where we felt like, 'okay, it will be take about two, two and a half hours including the one hour of therapy'. We planned it such, so the milk we carried was for that amount of time. We were on the road for four and a half fours. We were like - what the heck. And I was like, 'that's it, we've got to figure something out.” Watch here: Robin Uthappa was a crucial member of the Indian team that won the T20 World Cup in 2007 in South Africa. Although his international career was through ups and downs, he got enough chances to represent his national team. Uthappa played 46 ODIs and 13 T20Is for India.
