Amidst debates regarding India's participation in Champions Trophy, Pakistan Captain Mohammad Rizwan showed heartwarming gesture towards the Indian Cricket team, assuring them to welcome them if they visit Pakistan for the Champions Trophy. Pakistan will lock horns with Australia in a 3-match T20I series between Pakistan and Australia, with the first one starting on November 13 at Gabba. Rizwan's remarks came ahead of the first T20I, in the pre-match press conference. Rizwan said to the press, "KL Rahul, Suryakumar Yadav are all welcome. All the players who will come, we will welcome them. This is not our decision, this is PCB's decision. Whatever decision will take place, hopefully they will all discuss and take the right call. But we are hopeful that if the Indian players will come, we will welcome them." Pakistan, who was officially announced as the host for the Champions Trophy, was granted a huge lump of money for renovations of the stadiums. Pakistan had stated that, they will conduct the entire tournament in three cities: Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Karachi. Even though the tentative schedule was published, it wasn't made official due to the chaos regarding India's participation. Reports had claimed that Pakistan has agreed to the "hybrid model" of hosting (alloting neutral venues like Sri Lanka or UAE for India). But Pakistani officials made it clear that they are rigid about their decisions. After India officially announced not to travel to Pakistan due to security concerns, the ICC may pressurize PCB to either opt for the hybrid model or relocate the entire tournament to South Africa.
