Riyan Parag is set to comeback in competitive cricket and will be leading his domestic team Assam in the final group league match in the Ranji Trophy, starting on January 30. The allrounder has been suffering from chronic shoulder pain, for which he had to undergo surgery, and has been sidelined since October 2024. For now, he has been declared fit and will lead Assam against Saurashtra. Riyan Parag played his last competitive cricket hree-match T20I series against Bangladesh. He then had to miss the T20Is against South Africa in November for this injury snub. Later on, he was sidelined from the ongoing England series and has been dropped from the Champions Trophy 2025 squad as well. He had an outstanding performance last season in the Ranji Trophy, averaging 75.60, and was one of the main reasons for Assam's improved run. After a series of remarkable domestic seasons and a breakout IPL in 2024, Parag made his way into the national side, debuting in the Zimbabwe series. Not just Parag, but Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, and Mohammad Siraj are also likely to play the final matches of the Ranji goup stage, starting on January 30.
