Rishabh Pant delivered strongly with the bat, scoring 63 runs off 49 balls against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the IPL 2025 match at Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow. His innings took Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) to 166/7 on the scoreboard, although the team failed to win the game, but his innings will give him immense confidence for the remainder of the season. Pant batted early when LSG were struggling at 23/2. He coped with the pressure, formed alliances, and scored 4 fours and 4 sixes. He remained till the penultimate over before getting dismissed by Matheesha Pathirana. Although the team lost, his innings provided spectators with something to cheer about. Before this match, Pant was not in good form. In the first five innings played by the LSG skipper this season, he accumulated just 40 runs, with the highest being 21. Many were questioning his performance, especially after LSG had roped him for ₹27 crore. But this innings showed he still has the skill and confidence. The pitch was slow, and CSK bowlers bowled well according to the conditions. Matheesha Pathirana took 2 wickets giving away 28 runs, and Ravindra Jadeja conceded just 23 runs and claimed 1 wicket. Ultimately, Pant's return to form is a huge plus for LSG. If he keeps batting like this, LSG can still recover in the second half of the season. His form is much needed for the franchise as they are highly dependend on MItchell Marsh and Nicholas Pooran. If the overseas duo fails to deliver, Pant will have to step up and take the responsibility of the batting on his shoulders.
