India cricket team wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant will be returning to play soon. The southpaw had fractured his toe in the IND vs ENG 4th Test at Manchester's Old Trafford ground. He was then disqualified from the rest of the series and was also not available for selection for Asia Cup 2025. As per RevSportz, Pant will join the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence (CoE) next week to commence his rehab process. The southpaw will be hoping to be fit in time for the two-match Test series against West Indies which will begin from October 2 onwards. Earlier this week, reports had claimed that Pant had spent a few days in Mumbai consulting specialist doctors. The report asserted that the keeper has been given a timeline by experts and will restore full fitness within a short period of time. He returned to international cricket in the 2024 T20 World Cup where he won. After that tournament, he featured in the Test series against Bangladesh and New Zealand at home and then a long five-match series against Australia at Down Under. He then played in IPL 2025, where he had quite a sub-par season. Pant was the last member of the 5-match IND vs ENG Test series in which he scored two hundreds and three fifties, including a gallant half-century in Manchester in spite of having a fractured toe. While Dhruv Jurel has covered for India in Tests when Pant has not been available, India will be looking for Pant to recover in time for the home series against West Indies. The Men in Blue will play South Africa next in November after the WI assignment.
