The Indian wicketkeeper batter Rishabh Pant has written a cheeky farewell message for the English pacer Chris Woakes, who recently announced his retirement from international cricket. Recently, the duo faced each other in the Anderson-Tendulkar Series. Both Chris Woakes and Rishabh Pant are recovering from injuries. While Woakes is recovering from a shoulder injury, Rishab is currently at the BCCI Centre of Excellence recovering from a foot injury. Notably, Rishabh sustained the injury off Woakes in the fourth Test at Manchester. Recalling that, Rishbah wrote that Woakes left a scar on him before leaving. On his X account, Rishabh Pant wrote, "Happy Retirement Woakesy. You have been amazing on the field. Lots of discipline, a big smile and always good vibes. Now you can finally give that bowling arm a rest and my foot too. You definitely left a mark on me before retirement. Wishing you a fantastic journey ahead." Woakes, who was injured at the Oval, came to bat as the last wicket for England, with his arm in a sling, guarded by his cardigan. Woakes' retirement from international cricket came right after the Ashes squad was declared. Woakes, 36, played 62 Tests, 122 ODIs, and 33 T20Is for England. He took 192, 173, and 31 wickets, respectively. On September 29, he announced his retirement with a long Instagram post, where he wrote, "The moment has come, and I've decided that the time is right for me to retire from international cricket. "Playing for England was something I aspired to do since I was a kid dreaming in the back garden, and I feel incredibly fortunate to have lived out those dreams. Representing England, wearing the Three Lions and sharing the field with team-mates over the last 15 years, many of whom have become lifelong friends, are things I'll look back on with the greatest pride." Woakes, the owner of two World Cups, thanked his family, coaches, teammates, and fans, including the Barmy Army, for their relentless support.
