Currently, Pant is playing in Perth, where India has begun their Border-Gavaskar Trophy series against Australia. In the first innings, the 27-year-old contributed a gritty 37 runs off 78 balls, including three boundaries and a six, as India was bowled out for 150 in 49.4 overs. Pant's innings made him India’s second-highest scorer, behind Nitish Kumar Reddy, who managed 41. While speaking with a Fox Cricket commentator, Pant shared how his life has transformed and taken a new direction following the road accident. As quoted by TOI, Rishabh Pant said: "I think one of the few most important things is like more gratitude in life, yes I would say cricket is part of it, but you are looking at things with a different perspective, because whatever that's happening in life is good, we are thinking life is not happening this way or that way, whatever happens in life is for good, that's the only thing, that's how I look at it. So more gratitude, more humble, more hungry, that's what I'll say."
