The league stage of IPL 2025 concluded on Tuesday with plenty of drama and high-stakes results. Jitesh Sharma had helped RCB to the top two in Lucknow, but not before a cheeky moment with Digvesh Rathi, in which the LSG spinner took an attempt at a Mankad on Jitesh at the non-striker's end, but Rishabh Pant later withdrew the appeal. RCB was facing a record chase to secure Qualifier 1 spot and Jitesh kept the chase alive, batting fluently at Ekana stadium and bringing the required run rate under ten-an-over. Desperate to turn the tide, LSG's Digvesh Rathi attempted a run out at the non-striker's end. But since Rathi had already crossed the legal bowling mark, the attempt became invalid. LSG captain Rishabh Pant intervened and withdrew the appeal, allowing the game to continue. A relieved and grateful Jitesh even hugged Rishabh, in thanks. Jitesh was not going to allow such an opportunity to slip one away. He would remain unbeaten on 85 from 33, sealing a crucial win for RCB with eight balls to go. The visitors were immensely pleased by his power displays. The mystery spinner has already been handed one one-match ban this season alongside fines for his over-the-top celebrations. His renowned "notebook" trick appealed to opinion splitting across-the-board, and this Mankad clime will add more to that. Though the run out was not given, Pant's conduct still stood out. He withdrew the appeal, thereby demonstrating exceptional sportsmanship. In the eyes of many where every run counts, Pant let the moment rest in favor of upholding the spirit of cricket.
