The Indian wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant, who has been out from competitive cricket since July this year, has reportedly shown interest in playing the 2025-26 Ranji Season. Currently Rishabh Pant is at the BCCI Center of Excellence (COE) recovering from a foot injury. Notably, Rishabh sustained a foot injury during the Manchester Test against England. Initially, a recovery that was estimated to take six weeks got worse due to the pressure on his metatarsal bone while he came to bat the next day. Notably, a report from the Times of India said that Rishabh will be undergoing a fitness test at the CoE and his right foot will be assessed this week. A BCCI source said, as quoted by TOI, “As of now, there is a likelihood he could be cleared by Oct 10. An assessment is due this week. It has been a long recovery for him. The BCCI medical team doesn't want to take any chances." Read also: Kane Williamson’s Comeback? However, there is confirmation on when he will join the team. The DDCA official said, "Pant has said he should be available for the Ranji Trophy matches in Delhi from October 25. He has conveyed that it will be subjected to fitness and clearance from the BCCI medical team." The official further said, "Pant has not committed to any date when he can join the Delhi camp. During the squad selection for the West Indies Test series, it was learned that Rishabh will be playing the upcoming home series against South Africa starting on November 14, at Kolkata.
