Jasprit Bumrah has now emerged as one of the best fast bowlers amongst all formats for India in international cricket. With his unorthodox bowling action, which many felt would not last long, he has proved all perceptions wrong and has turned out to be very successful. He was spotted by the Mumbai Indians, who gave him an IPL debut in 2013. In 2016, Bumrah went on to make his debut for India in T20Is and ODIs, which was followed by his Test debut in 2018. Ever since then, he has been an important contributor to many of India's memorable wins across formats. In 2022, Bumrah suffered a serious setback because of a back injury that many thought would end his career. However, more than a year later, he made a strong comeback and played an important role in India's victory in the T20 World Cup in 2024. Recently, an old video resurfaced on social media, possibly from his debut year with Mumbai Indians. In that video, young Jasprit Bumrah was seen correcting a report that referred to him as a "right-arm medium" bowler.
