The Africa Cricket Association (ACA) is looking to revive the Afro-Asia Cup after almost two decades. It is a series of charity cricket matches played between an Asian XI and an African XI. In the recently conducted Annual General Meeting (AGM), the ACA appointed an interim committee to look after the restrictions of the organization and increase competitive opportunities for players across the continent. However, they are also focusing on engaging organizations like the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) to explore cross-continental tournaments. A rich history The Afro-Asia Cup had its inaugural session in 2005. However, it paused after its second edition, in 2007. The inaugural session had a rain-affected first match, followed by a 1-1 result for both. Asia won all three games in the subsequent edition. The tournament featured legends like Inzamam-ul-Haq, Rahul Dravid, MS Dhoni, and Sachin Tendulkar. In case the tournament gets back his lost life, there will be a chance for the Indian players to team up with the Pakistanis. Apart from the World Cups, neither country gets chances for face-offs. With the tournament starting against, it will be a great treat for fans to see Jasprit Bumrah and Shaheen Shah Afridi on the same team. Once that comes together, we will go to the board, the board will okay it, and then we will take it from there." This initiative aims to provide a platform for local talent while fostering a competitive spirit across the continent.
