The Indian men's cricket team is set to face India A ahead of their England tour, where they will play a five-match Test series starting in June. Unlike previous overseas tours where India would take on local county teams in warm-up matches, this time, they will be playing against India A instead. The Indian men's team is scheduled to travel to England immediately after the conclusion of the Indian Premier League (IPL), with the Test series starting from June 20. Typically, ahead of an overseas tour, the team arrives early to familiarize themselves with the overseas conditions by playing warm-up matches against county teams. However, according to a report in Cricbuzz, this year’s preparations will follow a different route as India A will be their opposition in the lead-up to the series. The warm-up game is set to take place at The Beckenham Ground. While this match will allow players to get some much-needed practice, there has been no official confirmation regarding its exact schedule. Additionally, to keep strategies and team combinations confidential, there will reportedly be no broadcast of the match. Also, the timeline for the Indian team’s arrival in England remains uncertain. With the IPL final scheduled for May 25, players are expected to take a brief break before assembling for the England tour in early June. The squad for the tour is likely to be out by the end of May, where the team selectors will decide whether to continue with Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. India A to tour England Alongside the senior Indian team, India A will also be touring England, where they will face England Lions in a series of four-day matches. The tour is set to begin on May 30, with the first match scheduled at Canterbury from May 30 to June 2. The second match will be played at the Northamptonshire Cricket County Club Ground from June 6 to 9.
