In the 2nd T20I between India and England, at Old Trafford, Manchester, India all-rounder Axar Patel created history by becoming the first Indian spinner and fourth overall Indian bowler to claim 100 wickets in T20 Internationals. The defining moment was when Axar removed the dangerous England skipper Harry Brook in the run chase of 191. He had scored 39 runs off just 15 balls with four fours and three sixes, but Axar brought his powerful innings to an end in the fifth over. The England skipper had tried to sweep but only managed to appear to prod a faint glove to wicketkeeper Ishan Kishan. The on-field umpire first raised his finger for a wide; however, India took a review. UltraEdge saw an edge, and Brook was dismissed to give Axar his milestone 100th T20I wicket. First Indian Spinner to Reach the Milestone With the wicket, he becomes the first Indian spinner to take 100 wickets in T20Is. And only 4 Indian bowlers in total who had accomplished this milestone. Yuzvendra Chahal was the leading Indian spinner in the T20I International with the most wickets in the game, having 96 victims. Axar has now moved ahead of him and become the leading Indian spinner in the cricket format, being a regular in the Indian T20I team. Abhishek Sharma scored a quick 43 runs off just 24 balls while Ishan Kishan scored 49 off 40 balls. Captain Shreyas Iyer scored 37 runs off 22 balls before Tilak Varma struck a 24-run cameo in just 11 deliveries. Fresh face Vaibhav Sooryavanshi also grabbed the limelight on his debut. The 15-year-old was off to a confident start by smashing Jofra Archer for six but got out early for 14. Things went from bad to worse for England when Arshdeep Singh struck twice in the first over, removing Philip Salt and Jos Buttler. Harry Brook then launched an extraordinary counter-attack before Axar Patel's century-taking wicket brought India back in the game. The way he got dismissed was a momentous achievement in the game and a sparkling moment in the career of the player. Becoming the first Indian spin bowler to reach the 100 T20I wicket mark, Axar showed once more (as he already did on many occasions during his career) that he is one of India's most consistent players in all format of the game.
