The signature-book phenomenon of giving a celebration by LSG spinner Digvesh Rathi has once again caused a stir, with more serious consequences this time. After making fun of Abhishek Sharma during the clash between LSG and SRH, Rathi was fined 50% of his match fees and given a one-match suspension. This was not the first time Rathi had crossed the line; he had already been fined twice before this for breaches of Level 1 of the code of conduct as specified under Article 2. These were in addition to the three demerit points that he had already received — one against PBKS and two against MI — which now puts him over the line with two more, bringing about his suspension. As a result, Rathi will not take part in LSG's next game against GT on May 22 in Ahmedabad. This would be his first Level 1 offence and net him a single demerit point. Sharma has already been fined INR 5,62,500. There were real emotions at stake and the players were at fault which allows for the noticeable yet short-lived flare-up of tempers. As for the match, the SRH chased down the score of 206 runs with ease and with 10 balls to spare.
