Mumbai Indians (MI) will take on Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in their next match at Wankhede Stadium. Ahead of their clash, MI star pacer Jasprit Bumrah returned to the team camp. However, he is unlikely to feature in the playing eleven. According to the reports in ESPNcricinfo, the Indian pacer had joined the camp on Saturday after getting the clearance from the medical staff at the Centre of Excellence (Formerly NCA) in Bengaluru. Bumrah, who is likely to return to the MI squad soon, will now coordinate with the franchise management and head coach Mahela Jayawardena to finalize his schedule. To assess his match readiness, Bumrah is expected to play a practice match to test his fitness. However, the timeline and venue for the match are yet to be confirmed. The BCCI’s Centre of Excellence also wants to ensure he is fully fit before returning to competitive action, especially with a five-match Test series against England scheduled for June following the IPL. πΉπ¬π¨π«π π»πΆ πΉπΆπ¨πΉ π¦#MumbaiIndians #PlayLikeMumbai #TATAIPL pic.twitter.com/oXSPWg8MVa — Mumbai Indians (@mipaltan) April 6, 2025 MI take on RCB next While Bumrah may not feature in the playing XI immediately, his presence will undoubtedly boost MI’s confidence as they aim to register their second win of the tournament. The five-time champions have struggled with consistency in the pace bowling department this season. Aside from the experienced Trent Boult and Deepak Chahar, MI have seen notable contributions from emerging pacers like Ashwani Kumar and Satyanarayana Raju. Ashwani Kumar made an impact on his debut with a four-wicket haul. Raju, on the other hand, has been good in patches. On the other hand, MI captain Hardik Pandya also impressed with a five-wicket haul in the previous match. However, none of the bowlers have managed to be consistent in the tournament so far. Currently, MI are placed 8th on the points table, and a win here could push them into the top four. On the other hand, RCB could reclaim the top spot if they defeat MI on Monday.
