Not a victorious victory lap for Virat Kohli and his bunch of players in Royal Challengers Bengaluru. At least 10 people died and at least 20 were injured due to stampede near the Chinnaswamy Stadium. The injured individuals have been admitted to Bowring and Vydehi Hospitals. The mishap occurred amid large crowds that had assembled to celebrate the team's victory. Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is expected to visit those affected. Earlier, the victory parade was cancelled due to congestion but was carried on anyhow and the police assured they would manage it. As per the revised schedule, the fans with free passes were only allowed in the felicitation ceremony in their Chinnaswamy Stadium for the RCB players. The ceremony was supposed to start at 5 pm, and there were gifts kept aside for the players and the support staffs. Since the afternoon, a lot of RCB fans had gathered outside the stadium to have a view of the team. Even the Karnataka police was mildly controlling them. However, the situation went beyond control. Despite this, there has been no hazard, and the victorious team carried on with a lap, showcasing the trophy with smiles on their faces.
